  3. Wipe across and fill in the visible surface abrasions, scuffs and holes with the piping filler
  4. Allow to dry for a lasting, invisible repair
  5. If several coats are required, follow the same process
  6. Dry with a hairdryer

With this type of filler drying is always carried out using a hairdryer, or left to dry at room temperature, as it air cures its best to keep the lids closed at all times to avoid this leather filler from drying up.

Make sure the area is fully prepared before applying the leather edge fillers, then you lightly sand any rough areas before application with either 1200 paper or 280 foam sanding pads, and a final wipe down with alcohol cleaner has been carried out.

For areas where you have torn piping or bits sticking up, once you have prepared the area and wiped down with alcohol cleaner these can be glued into place at this stage and dried thoroughly. Once this is dry lightly sand again with either 1200 or 280 grit paper and then you can start to apply the piping filler into the damaged area.

Never over apply any type of leather fillers as all leather fillers are very flexible, and it will take a while to sand them down.

Apply using the spatula in thin layers, this can be brushed into shape with a fine paint brush, its best to apply several layers if you have to rather than one thick layer as the filler may not cure underneath, so apply thin even layers and dry each layer before applying more, sanding each layer after its dry.
