Instructions

Step 1:
Trim Loose Threads

If the tear has any loose threads, carefully trim them with a pair of scissors. Be cautious not to cut into the surrounding leather.

Step 2: Clean the Leather

Before starting any repair, it is crucial to properly clean the leather surface. Removing dirt, oils, and contaminants ensures the glue adheres properly and
results in a long-lasting repair.

  • For aniline leather: Use LRC7 Aniline Cleaner.
  • For pigmented, nappa, or standard leather: Use LRC1 Leather Cleaner.

Apply the cleaner using a bamboo pad or a soft leather brush, working gently but thoroughly over the damaged area. Allow the leather to dry completely before proceeding to the next step.

Repairing the Tear

Once the leather is clean and dry, you can begin repairing the tear using the LRC Glue Kit. Follow these steps:

1: Insert the backing fabric under the tear to provide extra support, placing a pin in the middle of the fabric. It doesn't matter what way up the backing fabric goes.

2: Apply LRC glue to one side of the tear and press it onto the backing fabric, once secured in
place, now carefully remove the pin.

3: Secure the other side of the tear by applying glue to the other side and carefully bringing both edges together.

4: Hold in place by placing a strip of low tack clear tape over the repair while the glue dries. Once the
glue has completely dried, your basic repair is finished. However, if the tear needs additional filling and recolouring, continue with the following steps.
